Seacrest Rehab & Healthcare celebrates multi-million dollar renovation and grand reopening in Little Egg Harbor

Seacrest Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center marked a significant milestone with the celebration of its grand reopening Wednesday, following the completion of a multi-million-dollar renovation and modernization. The skilled nursing facility, located at 1001 Center Street in Egg Harbor, provides crucial post-hospital care, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term residential services for the community.

The renovation’s centerpiece is The Promenade, a new, state-of-the-art 51-bed subacute care wing designed to support progressive rehabilitation.

The celebration drew a crowd of nearly 100 guests, including health care colleagues and local dignitaries such as Little Egg Harbor Deputy Mayor Ken Laney, Tuckerton Mayor Sue Marshall, and Assemblyman Brian Rumpf, who presented a Proclamation on behalf of the 9th Legislative District Delegation.

The renovation focused heavily on enhancing the rehab experience:

  • Expanded Therapy Space: The Promenade features a new 3,000-square-foot rehab therapy gym equipped with modern technology.
  • Real-Life Simulation: The gym includes a Smart Car to simulate real-life movement and a spacious activities of daily living (ADL) suite that mimics a home environment with a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. This allows patients to safely practice and regain skills before returning home.
  • Dedicated Amenities: The new wing also offers a dedicated entrance, two dining areas, and a comfortable patient and family lounge.

The overall design throughout the center embraces a bright, coastal theme of blues and whites, reflecting the local area’s aesthetic.

“The Seacrest and Marquis teams are thrilled to celebrate the Grand Reopening,” Kate Bauer, regional director of market development for Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports Seacrest, said. “The new design pairs a high level of functionality with a warm and energizing aesthetic – it’s beautiful.”

Seacrest has simultaneously enhanced its specialized medical offerings, recently introducing OrthoWIN, a highly specialized subacute care program for orthopedic recovery. The program is directed by Dr. Chi M. Wu, with support from Drs. Gabriel Catalina and Eric Driscoll said.

The leadership emphasized that the renovated center is poised to continue its reputation as the area’s destination of choice for post-acute care.
