Centenary University has appointed former professional pitcher and collegiate coach Tim Bausher as the new head coach of the Cyclones baseball program.
Bausher brings extensive professional experience to Hackettstown, having pitched professionally from 2001 to 2008 and reaching the Major Leagues in 2005 with the Boston Red Sox. Over his eight-year professional career, he also competed within the organizations of the Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds, and Kansas City Royals.
He transitions to Centenary after serving since 2019 as pitching coach at NCAA Division II Pace University, where he helped guide the Setters to program-first conference championships in 2023 and 2025.
“Coach Tim Bausher brings a remarkable combination of professional achievement, coaching success, and commitment to student development that will strengthen our baseball program and elevate the experience of every student-athlete he serves,” Centenary University President John Schol, said. “His appointment reflects our broader commitment to excellence, and we are excited to see Centenary Baseball continue its rise as we prepare to join the United East Conference.”
Bausher takes over a program experiencing historic momentum. During the 2026 season, the Cyclones became the first team in program history to host the Atlantic East Conference Championship Tournament. Looking ahead, Centenary is preparing to join the United East Conference on July 1, 2027.
