BeOne Medicines is putting another $300 million into its Hopewell manufacturing campus, pushing the global oncology company’s total investment in the site past $1 billion in just two years and adding 120 full-time jobs.
The expansion, announced Thursday, will add a three-story, 145,000-square-foot building to BeOne’s Princeton West Innovation Campus, bringing new small-molecule drug manufacturing capacity to a site that currently handles biologics production. Once complete, the campus will grow to roughly 545,000 square feet and become a fully integrated, multi-platform manufacturing hub, combining biologics and small-molecule drug product operations under one roof.
The new building is expected to be fully operational in 2029, with Hopewell headcount reaching approximately 240 by the end of that year.
“Today’s announcement reflects BeOne’s commitment to strengthening U.S. manufacturing and expanding access to innovative medicines for patients with cancer,” BeOne Chief Financial Officer Aaron Rosenberg said. “We appreciate the federal tax policies advanced by the President that encourage investment in biopharmaceutical production, alongside the Next New Jersey Manufacturing Program and the governor’s efforts to support advanced manufacturing and high-quality job creation.”
The Hopewell campus opened in July 2024 following an initial $800 million investment. The 42-acre site still has more than 1 million square feet of developable real estate for future growth, according to the company.
BeOne, headquartered in Switzerland, employs more than 12,000 people across six continents, including more than 2,000 in the U.S. The company says it generated nearly $2 billion in direct U.S. economic impact last year and invested about $1 billion in U.S. R&D, while running 93 clinical trials across 45 states and one U.S. territory.
The new capacity will support BeOne’s pipeline across blood cancers as well as breast, gynecologic, lung, liver and gastrointestinal tumors — more than 35 clinical and commercial-stage programs in all, spanning small molecules, biologics, targeted protein degraders, multispecific antibodies and antibody drug conjugates.
With this expansion, New Jersey’s Hopewell campus becomes even more central to that pipeline — the same 42 acres that opened two years ago now anchoring more than $1 billion of BeOne’s global manufacturing footprint.
