Compass Pathways celebrates opening of new Jersey City office to support U.S. commercial readiness

Compass Pathways plc, a leading mental health care biotechnology company, marked a major milestone on Monday with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new U.S. office in Jersey City. Company leaders, employees, and local officials gathered to celebrate the opening of the 6,327-square-foot facility.

The new office will serve as a central hub for tri-state area employees, bringing cross-functional teams together as the company ramps up U.S. commercial readiness activities for COMP360—its investigational synthetic psilocybin treatment program for treatment-resistant depression (TRD). Pending FDA approval, Compass anticipates a potential U.S. launch in the first half of 2027.

Compass selected Jersey City to tap into the region’s robust life sciences and healthcare ecosystem, exceptional local talent pool, and growing status as a biotechnology hub.

The company currently employs approximately 175 people in the U.S., including more than 60 across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. New Jersey now stands as one of the company’s largest employee concentrations nationwide.

“Today is about more than an office – it is about the Compass colleagues who will fill this space with purpose and the people living with serious mental health conditions who are at the heart of our work,” Kabir Nath, Chief Executive Officer of Compass Pathways, said.

“I’ve spent a significant part of my career in New Jersey, and I’ve seen firsthand the strength of the life sciences community here,” Nath added. “Compass is proud to call Jersey City home as we advance into our next phase of growth and continue working to bring better options to people who are still suffering.”

Compass Pathways is dedicated to transforming psychiatric care through its proprietary synthetic psilocybin treatment, COMP360. The therapy holds a Breakthrough Therapy designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treatment-resistant depression and an Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway (ILAP) designation in the UK.

In addition to leading the world’s largest classic psychedelic clinical program for TRD, Compass is conducting late-stage clinical trials evaluating COMP360 for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addressing another critical area of unmet medical need.
