The Emergency Department at Inspira Medical Center Elmer has been honored with the national Lantern Award for nursing excellence and innovation by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). This marks the fourth time the South Jersey facility has received the prestigious designation since its inception, having previously earned the accolade in 2011, 2018, and 2021.
The Lantern Award serves as a high national benchmark, recognizing emergency departments that demonstrate exceptional leadership, clinical practice, education, advocacy, and research. To secure the designation, departments must complete a rigorous application process evaluated through both quantitative and qualitative measures. Entries are scored on how effectively teams address complex operational and clinical challenges, such as reducing emergency department boarding times, accelerating stroke care, improving pediatric readiness, and fostering staff professional development.
