Garden State residents looking to take control of their wellness will soon be able to order diagnostic lab tests with a few taps on their iPhones and iPads. Secaucus-headquartered Quest Diagnostics announced a major nationwide partnership with Apple, allowing Health app users to purchase and schedule specialized biomarker testing directly through the platform later this year.
Under the initiative, users can buy a tailored $119 laboratory panel featuring over 50 biomarkers geared toward assessing organ function and cardiometabolic health. The integrated service also records vital biometrics—such as blood pressure, height, weight, and waist measurements—to offer a comprehensive snapshot of metabolic fitness.
- Local Access: Garden State patients can seamlessly book their blood draws and biometric screenings at local Quest patient service centers spanning from Bergen County down to the Jersey Shore.
- Direct-to-Device Results: Completed lab data routes directly back into the user’s Apple Health app shortly after processing.
- Built-In Clinical Care: Third-party medical professionals review all test orders and provide optional, no-cost consultations to review results and map out next steps.
“By embedding the Quest lab testing experience within the Apple Health app, we are making testing simpler, smarter and more available to people who want to connect biomarker and biometric insights to own their health,” Richard Adams, senior vice president and general manager, Cconsumer at Quest Diagnostics.
The collaboration seeks to target preventable chronic conditions like heart disease and diabetes, which impact roughly three in four American adults. By expanding direct consumer access to early biomarker screening, Quest and Apple hope to catch asymptomatic health signals before they escalate.
The new feature is slated to launch within the Apple Health app later this year.
