Thriveworks, a leading national provider of mental health services, has officially expanded its psychiatric care capabilities in New Jersey to include in-person appointments. The service is now live across five regional clinics statewide: Paramus, Cherry Hill, Edison, Toms River and Red Bank.
Having served New Jersey communities for over 18 years, Thriveworks introduced face-to-face psychiatric care to give patients more flexible treatment options—seamlessly blending talk therapy with integrated medication management.
The expansion also directly addresses recent regulatory changes governing telehealth prescribing for controlled medications, which mandate in-person initial evaluations and periodic follow-ups for specific Schedule II substances. By leveraging its existing clinic footprint, Thriveworks can maintain continuity of care for patients requiring in-person visits while preserving virtual care options where clinically appropriate.
“For too long, trying to access psychiatric care in New Jersey has meant long waitlists, steep out-of-pocket costs or, just going without,” Dr. Dan Frogel, CEO of Thriveworks, said. “When the new regulations came into effect, we knew even more people would be left without access to the medications they need… We’re proud to offer New Jersey residents with a pathway for fast, high-quality psychiatry services that are covered by most of the state’s major insurance providers.”
Operating against a national average psychiatric wait time of six weeks, Thriveworks aims to connect patients with providers within 5 to 7 days, offering evening and weekend appointment availability.
Key highlights of the expanded program include:
- Locations: In-person psychiatric services are available at clinics in Paramus, Cherry Hill, Edison, Toms River, and Red Bank.
- Insurance compatibility: In-network with major insurance providers across New Jersey, alongside transparent self-pay options with no hidden subscription or membership fees.
- Holistic treatment: Care plans can combine medication management with individual, couples, or family talk therapy.
