Atlantic City casinos unite in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Throughout October, Atlantic City’s casino resorts are painting the town pink, joining forces to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a lineup of illuminated displays, specialty culinary offerings, employee fundraisers and community partnerships.

Spearheaded by the Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ), the initiative brings the city’s gaming destinations together to champion early detection, support ongoing medical research, and honor those impacted by the disease.

“Each October, Atlantic City casinos stand united with our employees, guests, and the greater community to raise awareness and show our support for those impacted by breast cancer,” George Goldhoff, president of CANJ said. “Breast cancer affects families across our communities, and Atlantic City casinos remain committed to supporting lifesaving research, promoting early detection, and helping ensure patients have access to the care and resources they need.”

From the iconic ball at Ocean Casino Resort and the towers of Borgata Hotel & Casino to the exterior facades of Caesars, Tropicana, and Harrah’s Resort, properties across the board have flipped the switch to pink. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is celebrating the 26th anniversary of its global PINKTOBER program with pink lighting across its porte cochere, guitar landmark, and interior table game felts. Meanwhile, Bally’s Atlantic City is illuminating its Pacific Avenue entrances and Phil’s Carousel Bar, Golden Nugget is featuring specialty pink cocktails and manicures, and Resorts Casino Hotel has wrapped its slot voucher collection boxes in pink.

Fundraising on the floor and at the table

Guests looking to contribute can easily participate through various on-property mechanisms:

  • Slot Voucher Donations: Properties including Bally’s, Golden Nugget, and Resorts are inviting guests to donate unwanted slot vouchers via specialized collection boxes and redemption kiosks, with all proceeds directly benefiting breast cancer causes.
  • Themed Food & Drink: Visitors can support the cause simply by dining out. Hard Rock, Tropicana, Golden Nugget, Ocean, and Resorts are featuring limited-edition pink cocktails, wines, cupcakes, and seasonal menu items, with a portion of each sale donated to organizations like the American Cancer Society.
  • Retail for a Cause: Hard Rock’s Rock Shops are offering exclusive, limited-edition PINKTOBER merchandise, ranging from signature pins to apparel.

Behind the scenes, resort leadership and team members are diving deep into grassroots fundraising. Executives from Caesars, Harrah’s, Tropicana, and Golden Nugget are proudly participating in the American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink campaign, hosting everything from bake sales and prize drawings to a Charity Golf Scramble at Blue Heron Pines on October 20.

Additionally, Atlantic City resorts are rallying strongly for community events, serving as sponsors and organizers for the upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks, alongside offering mobile on-site mammography screenings for team members in partnership with the Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) Foundation.
