Internationally renowned Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão announced the signing of a lease agreement to open a new 8,000-square-foot location at Freehold Raceway Mall in Freehold, New Jersey.
Situated at 3710 Route 9 within the mall’s Outdoor Village near the Center Court Entrance, the upcoming restaurant marks another major milestone in the brand’s accelerated U.S. expansion.
Known for its traditional churrasco dining experience, Fogo de Chão will feature an open-fire grill setup offering guests a 360-degree view of Gaucho chefs butchering, hand-carving, and grilling high-quality cuts of meat over an open flame. Diners will also have access to the brand’s signature Market Table, seasonal sides, and bar offerings.
“We’re thrilled to continue our growth in New Jersey with the opening of our newest restaurant at Freehold Raceway Mall,” Barry McGowan, chief executive officer of Fogo de Chão, said. “As one of the region’s premier shopping and lifestyle destinations, the center aligns perfectly with our upscale dining experience and commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality.”
Owned and operated by Macerich, Freehold Raceway Mall features more than 190 retail, dining, and entertainment venues. The addition of Fogo de Chão builds on the property’s ongoing transformation into a regional entertainment and culinary hub, joining a lineup that includes recent additions like Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Dick’s House of Sport, and upscale retailers.
“We’re thrilled to have Fogo de Chão joining Freehold Raceway Mall,” Eric Bunyan, senior vice president of leasing at Macerich, said. “Fogo is a well-respected brand with a loyal following, and we’re confident it will resonate with both our local community and visitors.”
An official opening date for the Freehold location has not yet been announced.
