Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii sets July 18 grand opening in Wall

The Jersey Shore is about to get a taste of the islands. Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is officially bringing its premium Hawaiian blends and signature “aloha spirit” to Monmouth County with the grand opening of its newest café in Wall on July 18.

Located at 1825 NJ-35, the new shop marks the brand’s first foray into the Jersey Shore market and represents a significant milestone in the franchise’s ongoing expansion across the Garden State. To celebrate the debut, the café will host a grand opening event starting at 10 a.m., featuring a traditional Hawaiian lei-cutting ceremony.

The first 200 guests to arrive at the 10 a.m. launch will receive a free cup of coffee, with choices ranging from signature brews and iced options to Nitro Cold Brew.

A father-son vision for New Jersey

The Wall location is owned and operated by New Jersey natives Jim and Tyler Bowman. This father-son duo, who previously found success with the opening of their Madison. café in Morris County, has signed a multi-unit agreement to bring the brand to additional communities across the state.

“Wall represents an exciting next chapter for our family,” Jim Bowman said. “We believe great coffee has the power to bring people together, and that’s exactly what we hope to create here—a welcoming gathering place for the community.”

Community commitment

In line with the brand’s focus on community engagement, the grand opening will feature live music, family activities, and a cornhole tournament to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County. A portion of the proceeds from the grand opening day will be donated directly to the organization, which has served local youth for over 85 years through locations in Asbury Park, Long Branch, Neptune and Red Bank.

About the brand

Founded on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is named in tribute to the hard-working donkeys that once transported coffee beans down steep mountain trails—affectionately dubbed the “Bad Ass Ones” by local residents for their strength and reliability.

Today, the franchise continues that legacy by sourcing beans from the Kona, Kauai, and Maui regions. The Wall café menu will feature a variety of handcrafted espresso drinks, blended beverages, and Hawaiian-inspired breakfast and lunch options.
