New Jersey residents face Nov. 2 deadline to apply for property-tax relief

The New Jersey Treasury’s Division of Taxation is reminding eligible residents to apply for the state’s property tax-relief programs by Nov. 2.

Seniors 65 and older and disabled homeowners or mobile homeowners can apply for the ANCHOR, Senior Freeze, and Stay NJ property tax-relief programs through the PAS-1 application. The PAS-1 replaced the former Senior Freeze and ANCHOR applications, meaning eligible taxpayers no longer need to file separate applications for these programs.

The application also applies to New Jersey’s newest property-tax relief program, Stay NJ.

Residents under the age of 65 who own or rent property in New Jersey can also apply for property-tax relief through the ANCHOR program via the ANC-1 application.

Both the PAS-1 and ANC-1 forms can be found and submitted online at propertytaxreliefapp.nj.gov.
