Families in Jersey City’s SoHo West neighborhood will soon have expanded access to premier early education. RXR has announced that Ivy Primary Prep has signed a lease for an 8,800-square-foot early education center at Radio Lofts, part of the multi-building Hudson House Collection.
Set to welcome its first students in spring 2027, the new facility will accommodate approximately 150 children ranging from three months through five years old, significantly growing the school’s local footprint.
Meeting local demand for early childhood education
Ivy Primary Prep’s original neighborhood location quickly reached its 60-child capacity and will remain open alongside the new facility. The expansive new space at Radio Lofts—located across from Coles Street Park—will be divided into two custom-designed sections:
- Infant & Toddler Care: A 2,800-square-foot wing dedicated to the youngest learners, maintaining low student-to-teacher ratios as low as 3-to-1.
- Preschool & Activities: A 6,000-square-foot area featuring dedicated classrooms for older children, specialized subject teachers in areas like literacy, math, and science, and a children’s sports and activity zone offering potential basketball and soccer programming.
“We opened our first center in this neighborhood in 2021 and quickly discovered how much demand there is for a highly personalized early education experience,” said Mary Christian, owner and director of Ivy Primary Prep. “Radio Lofts gives us the space to serve many more families while remaining in the neighborhood we consider home.”
The addition of Ivy Primary Prep builds on the neighborhood-serving retail and lifestyle offerings at the Hudson House Collection, joining previously announced tenants such as Dogdrop and CULTR Athletic Club.
Developed by a partnership including RXR, Columbia Property Trust, Strategic Value Partners (SVP), and One Investment Management (OneIM), the Hudson House Collection spans 829 residences across Hudson House East, Hudson House West, and Radio Lofts, complemented by roughly 48,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
For residents of Hudson House, the new school offers ultimate convenience, allowing parents seamless drop-offs and pickups right outside their door. The school also continues to draw families from throughout Jersey City—including the Heights and Journal Square—as well as New York City and beyond.
