ShopRite, the Keasbey-based retailer-owned supermarket cooperative in the United States, is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a two-week milestone celebration featuring special savings, digital offers, and promotions designed to thank generations of loyal customers and local communities.
Founded in 1951 by a small group of independent New Jersey grocers within the Wakefern Food Corp. cooperative, ShopRite has grown into a regional household name while maintaining its core commitment to local family ownership, community connection, and exceptional value.
The 75th-anniversary celebration spans the sale weeks of Aug. 16 and Aug. 23, offering shoppers limited-time discounts across stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland. In a special nod to the milestone year, many featured sale prices will conveniently end in .75.
- Own Brands Digital Promotion (Aug.16–22): Shoppers who purchase $75 or more of participating Own Brands items—including Bowl & Basket, Paperbird, Well Everyday, and Wholesome Pantry products—will receive $25 off their total purchase by downloading the digital coupon prior to checkout.
- Three-Day Super Sale (Aug. 20–22): Running Thursday through Saturday, this event delivers deep discounts on customer favorites such as eggs, fresh produce, pantry staples, snacks, ice cream, and Italian sausage.
- Digital Doorbusters (Week of Aug. 23): The celebration continues with a special circular wrap featuring 18 digital coupons on popular items with anniversary-themed .75 pricing.
“For 75 years, ShopRite stores have been family-owned and operated by grocers who live and work in the communities they serve,” Darren Caudill, chief sales officer of Wakefern Food Corp. “That local connection has always been at the heart of ShopRite — helping families find more value in every shopping trip, supporting neighborhoods and showing up for customers generation after generation. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone by thanking our customers with the savings, service and quality they continue to count on every day.”
Beyond its grocery aisles, ShopRite has long championed regional suppliers, independent family farms, and local specialty food producers. Customers can explore these long-standing supplier partnerships, along with archival stories and family recipes, by visiting the ShopRite 75th Anniversary Portal.
As part of its cooperative mission, ShopRite remains deeply committed to community welfare through programs like ShopRite Partners In Caring, which has donated $65 million to food banks supporting over 2,500 charities since 1999, and its title sponsorship of the ShopRite LPGA Classic, which has contributed $47 million to regional hospitals and community organizations.
