Optimum has announced a major $14 million network investment to deploy its 100% fiber-to-the-home infrastructure across East Brunswick and South River. The expansion will give thousands of local residential and business customers first-time access to advanced broadband, television and phone services.
The ambitious upgrade will deliver symmetrical internet speeds of up to 8 Gbps, providing robust capacity for remote work, high-volume streaming, and competitive gaming.
The network expansion marks another milestone in Optimum’s broader effort to modernize digital infrastructure throughout New Jersey, where the company already serves nearly 300 communities.
“Optimum’s dedication to New Jersey goes far beyond delivering fast and reliable internet,” Elton Hart, vice president and General Manager of Optimum Tri-State said. “As we expand our fiber network into East Brunswick and South River, we look forward to partnering with residents, businesses, educators, and community leaders to ensure everyone has access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”
Local leadership has also welcomed the initiative. “We are thrilled to welcome Optimum’s investment in our communities,” Mayor Brad Cohen said. “Expanding access to high-speed fiber internet is vital for residents, schools, and businesses, ensuring everyone has the tools and technology to learn, work, and grow.”
- Fiber Internet Launch: Optimum expects to officially begin rolling out and offering fiber internet services in East Brunswick and South River by early 2027.
- Optimum Mobile: Mobile services have already launched and are currently available to customers in both markets.
This $14 million project builds upon previous regional investments, including a $40 million network expansion announced in 2025 targeting New Jersey towns like Woodbridge, Clark, Linden, and Carteret.
