Ravi Kumar S, chief executive officer of Teaneck-headquartered IT and consulting giant Cognizant, has been named to the 2026 TIME100 AI list for the second year in a row, cementing his influence as a global leader shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
The annual TIME roster honors the world’s most influential pioneers, innovators, and thinkers driving advancements in artificial intelligence. Under Kumar’s leadership, Cognizant has rapidly emerged as a frontrunner in enterprise AI transformation, focusing on workforce reinvention and next-generation operating models from its corporate base in Bergen County.
Stephen Rohleder, chair of Cognizant’s Board of Directors, praised Kumar’s forward-thinking approach:

From its world headquarters on Frank Burr Boulevard in Teaneck, Cognizant has steered a three-vector AI growth strategy under Kumar’s direction, centered on:
- Hyperproductivity & Industrialized AI: Scaling deployments globally and adopting modern software principles (with over 40% of company code now AI-assisted).
- Enterprise Agentification: Redefining how business services are delivered and how organizations bridge the value gap between heavy AI investments and measurable business returns.
- Workforce Upskilling: Expanding internal and external initiatives—including certifying thousands of associates on frontier models like Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI Codex.
Locally and globally, Cognizant has also scaled its Synapse initiative, which aims to equip two million people worldwide with critical digital and AI skills by 2030, reinforcing Kumar’s vision that AI fluency should be broadly accessible.
