TD Charitable Foundation, the giving arm of TD Bank, on Thursday announced the launch of its 20th annual Housing for Everyone grant initiative, representing the largest investment in the program’s history with $10 million available.
The 2026 initiative will award $250,000 grants each to select nonprofit organizations that are focused on eviction prevention and early intervention strategies to promote long-term housing stability for renters in low- to moderate-income communities. Applications are now open until 4:00 p.m. on Nov. 25.
The focus comes at a critical time when renters face challenges such as sudden income loss, lack of legal protection, and difficulty navigating complex lease terms.
“Housing remains a critical issue across our footprint and beyond, and a key step to mitigating the issue is providing early intervention tools and education to those most vulnerable,” Paige Carlson-Heim, head of Social Impact at TD Bank said. “As we mark 20 years of the Housing for Everyone grant program, we recognize that lasting change in housing stability requires an ongoing commitment, and we are proud to support the organizations driving change through education, legal support, and more.”
Two decades of affordable housing advocacy
Since its inception in 2005, the Housing for Everyone program has provided more than $63 million to over 630 affordable housing initiatives.
The program’s 20-year evolution has occurred against a backdrop of widening affordability gaps, where home prices and rents have increased significantly while median household income saw almost no growth. The TD Charitable Foundation uses focus groups to identify top community challenges, ensuring the grants address the most pressing issues and providing capacity-building support to affordable housing providers.
