DLA appoints Thomas Keane as partner to boost forensic, valuation and litigation support services

Shrewsbury-based DLA, LLC, a financial and accounting services firm, announced that Thomas Keane, joined the firm as a partner within its Forensic, Valuation & Litigation Support Services (FVLS) practice. In this senior leadership role, Keane will focus on expanding DLA’s expertise, particularly in matrimonial litigation support, forensic accounting, and business valuation across its key markets.

Keane brings over 25 years of specialized experience to DLA, having established a strong background in complex financial investigations and high-stakes disputes. He most recently served as a senior director with the CBIZ Forensic Consulting Group, advising attorneys and overseeing detailed valuation analyses.

“Thomas’s deep experience in matrimonial litigation, forensic accounting, and valuation brings tremendous strength to our FVLS practice,” Kevin Baldwin, FVLS Group Leader at DLA said. “His track record of integrity, technical excellence, and client service aligns perfectly with our commitment to helping clients navigate their most complex challenges. We are thrilled to welcome him to the firm.”

Keane’s career includes significant time with Big Four accounting firms, where he spent 12 years. He began as an auditor at Arthur Andersen before transitioning to their Litigation Support Practice, which was later acquired by KPMG. At KPMG, he rose to senior manager, conducting investigations into fraudulent activity and authoring reports on control weaknesses.

Notably, Keane also held a leadership role for a publicly traded cancer diagnostics company in New York City. Initially reviewing publicly announced accounting irregularities, he uncovered multiple instances of fraud committed by senior management, which contributed to the company’s eventual bankruptcy filing. Following the investigation, he helped retrain the accounting staff and streamline operations for the subsequent sale of the company’s assets.

At DLA, Keane will play a central role in guiding clients and attorneys through the financial complexities of matrimonial disputes. His responsibilities will include:

  • Leading valuation and forensic engagements.

  • Advising on litigation strategy.

  • Offering expert witness insights into financial and accounting issues.

Keane is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in both New York and New Jersey and holds three prestigious credentials: Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He is also recognized as a thought leader and has delivered continuing education programs for organizations including the American Bar Association and the New Jersey Bar Association.

Keane assumes his new role immediately, supporting DLA’s multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality support in sensitive and financially significant disputes.
