Service from Newark will operate M-W-F-Sun, departing at 6:59 a.m. — return will be overnight flight, arriving at 5:29 a.m.

Volaris announced Wednesday that it will begin making four weekly non-stop flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to Puebla, Mexico, beginning June 2.

Service from Newark Liberty will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with a 6:59 a.m. departure from EWR for a 10:15 a.m. arrival at PBC.

Service to Newark Liberty will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with a 10:50 p.m. departure from PBC for a 5:29 a.m. arrival at EWR.

Volaris is an ultra-low-cost carrier, with point-to-point operations, serving Mexico, the United States, and Central and South America.

Tickets for the new service are on sale now at Volaris.com and on the Volaris app. The first flight from Newark to Puebla, on June 3, is priced at $114, one-way.

Puebla is located approximately 80 miles southeast of Mexico City and is one of Mexico’s most culturally and economically significant regions.

With this new service, Volaris reinforces its role as a key connector between Mexico and the United States, supporting mobility, tourism, and economic exchange across borders. Volaris currently operates service from EWR to Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) and El Salvador International Airport (SAL).

The new service strengthens EWR’s growing portfolio of international destinations and supports the Port Authority’s ongoing efforts to expand global connectivity from its airports, providing customers with more nonstop options while supporting economic and cultural exchange between regions.

EWR recorded its busiest year of international travel in 2025, welcoming 15.4 million international passengers.

“Expanding international service at Newark Liberty is a key part of our strategy to strengthen the global connectivity of the region’s airports,” Port Authority New Jersey airports general manager Frank Radics said. “Volaris’ new nonstop service to Puebla adds another important destination to our growing international network and reflects continued

demand for direct, reliable air service linking our region with major economic and cultural centers across the continent and the globe.”

Volaris EVP Holger Blankenstein was thrilled.

“This new route reflects Volaris’ commitment to expanding affordable air connectivity between key regions of Mexico and the United States,” he said. “By linking Newark with Puebla, we are offering our customers more and better travel options, while strengthening economic, cultural, and family ties between two vibrant markets.”

Known for its colonial architecture, landmarks such as Puebla Cathedral and the Biblioteca Palafoxiana, and culinary traditions including mole poblano and chiles en nogada, Puebla offers visitors a distinctive blend of history, cuisine, art and contemporary culture. The region also is an industrial and educational hub, making it an increasingly attractive destination for both tourism and business travel.
