New Jersey’s gaming industry continues its digital evolution, as the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) reported today that total gaming revenue hit $520.8 million for February 2026. While the total represents a 7.4% increase over the previous year, the data reveals a stark contrast between surging online platforms and a cooling brick-and-mortar market.
For the fourth consecutive month, internet gaming revenue surpassed traditional casino “wins,” signaling a sustained shift in how patrons engage with the Garden State’s gambling ecosystem.
The nine casino hotels in Atlantic City reported a Casino Win of $202.9 million, a slight 0.3% dip from February 2025. Experts point to environmental factors as a primary cause for the sluggish foot traffic.

“Amid a harsher winter than in recent years, Atlantic City’s casino operators saw a modest decline in brick-and-mortar gross gaming revenue,” Jane Bokunewicz, faculty director of the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism (LIGHT) at Stockton University said.
Conversely, Internet Gaming Win skyrocketed to $251.8 million, a 21.2% jump year-over-year. Bokunewicz suggested that the same winter weather keeping bettors off the Boardwalk likely fueled the digital surge.
Despite the hype surrounding Super Bowl LX, New Jersey sportsbooks did not see a championship-level payday. Sports Wagering Gross Revenue fell 10.3% to $66.0 million.
The decline is particularly notable given that the American Gaming Association predicted a record $1.76 billion in legal wagers nationwide for the big game. Bokunewicz remarked that it remains unclear if the emergence of prediction markets or other variables diverted handle away from traditional New Jersey operators.
