Samaritan, a leading not-for-profit health care organization, has announced the strategic expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of two seasoned executives. Jim Seaman joins the organization as chief financial officer, while Sherri DeVita has been elevated to the role of senior vice president of Clinical Operations.
Together, the duo brings more than 50 years of collective health care experience to the Mount Laurel-based provider, signaling a strong commitment to sustainable growth and clinical excellence.
Seaman joins Samaritan with a career spanning over three decades in health care finance. Most recently, he served as a senior health care financial executive consultant with Furtek & Associates, where he specialized in strengthening internal controls for national health care clients.
In his capacity as CFO, Seaman will direct all financial pillars of the organization, including:
- Strategic Financial Planning
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Accounting and Revenue Cycle Management
Seaman holds a degree in accounting and business administration from Millersville University.
DeVita’s promotion follows a rapid rise within the organization. Since joining Samaritan in 2022 as Director of Quality and Compliance, she has consistently demonstrated a mastery of clinical service policies and nursing management.
In her expanded role, DeVita will oversee a broad portfolio of essential services, including:
- Hospice Operations
- Social Work and Counseling
- The Center for Grief Support
- Quality, Compliance, and IT Services
A registered nurse, DeVita earned her nursing degree from Luzerne County Community College and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and business administration from Ohio State University.
The leadership changes come at a pivotal time as Samaritan continues to expand its reach in providing quality, compassionate care across the region.
“Jim and Sherri both possess invaluable skills in their respective fields and a wealth of experience in the health care space,” Phillip Heath, president and CEO of Samaritan said. “We are excited to see how their individual expertise and dedication to patient-centric care will support Samaritan’s continued growth and ensure the consistent delivery of quality, compassionate care to our patients and their loved ones.”
