New Jersey Policy Perspective promotes Alex Ambrose to senior policy analyst

New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP) has announced the promotion of Alex Ambrose to senior policy analyst. Ambrose, who joined the nonpartisan think tank in 2022, will lead the organization’s research efforts focusing on climate justice and transportation policy.

During her tenure at NJPP, Ambrose has become a key voice in New Jersey’s policy landscape, spearheading research on clean energy, the environmental impact of data centers, and utility accountability. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between technical policy analysis and the tangible effects these issues have on New Jersey families and local communities.

Ambrose’s promotion comes at a critical time for state policy as New Jersey navigates complex transitions in energy and public transit.

“Alex brings tremendous expertise and a deep commitment to environmental and climate justice to everything she does,” Brittany Holom-Trundy, NJPP director of research said. “Her research has been essential to NJPP’s work on clean energy and transportation, and this promotion reflects the outsized role she plays in moving these issues forward for New Jersey.”

Ambrose brings a robust background in environmental advocacy to her new senior role. Prior to joining NJPP, she held several high-impact positions within the state’s environmental sector:

  • Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC): Served as Policy Associate, where she was instrumental in passing the statewide ban on single-use plastic bags and worked on clean water and open space preservation.
  • New Jersey League of Conservation Voters: Served as a Policy Assistant.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Ambrose holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources. This multidisciplinary background allows her to apply scientific rigor to legislative and administrative policy goals.

In her elevated role, Ambrose is expected to continue her work with coalition partners across the state to advocate for a more sustainable and equitable future for New Jersey’s transportation and energy infrastructure.
