ShopRite LPGA Classic kicks off tournament week with 50-bike build for Atlantic City kids

Ahead of the LPGA Classic tournament weekend, volunteers gathered at the Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway Wednesday to kick off the ShopRite LPGA Classic Powered by Wakefern with a major community impact initiative.

As part of the tournament’s ongoing philanthropic efforts, volunteers successfully assembled 50 brand-new bicycles to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City.

The event was held in partnership with Yasso, The Magnum Ice Cream Company, and Can’dAid—a national nonprofit dedicated to driving local impact through volunteer-led bike and skateboard builds. Working together on a pavilion overlooking Seaview’s iconic 18th green, volunteers built the bicycles before they were directly delivered to local children. In addition to the new wheels, the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City was surprised with a $5,000 donation during the event.

The morning bike build officially launched a full week of community-centric and player events tied to the annual tournament. The ShopRite LPGA Classic officially tees off Friday, May 29, at Seaview Hotel and Golf Club, running through Sunday, May 31.

According to tournament organizers, the event underscores a long-standing commitment to not only advancing women’s professional golf but also driving a meaningful, lasting economic and charitable footprint in the southern New Jersey communities it serves.
