GreenArrow, a leader in transportation infrastructure and electrical services, announced on Friday that it acquired Lodi-based HBC Company, a move designed to significantly bolster its service capabilities across the Mid-Atlantic region.
HBC Company, led by president Gerard Hoogendoorn, is a long-standing specialist in critical electrical infrastructure, including highway and intersection lighting, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and aviation lighting. The acquisition integrates HBC’s specialized expertise and New Jersey and southern New York footprint into GreenArrow’s existing nationwide platform.
The acquisition is seen as a major milestone for GreenArrow, which operates as a unified company providing infrastructure services ranging from traffic signals to utility systems. GreenArrow’s leadership emphasized that the two companies share a strong cultural alignment, particularly in their commitment to family-like workplace environments and high-quality project delivery.
“From our very first conversation with Jerry, what stood out the most was how deeply he cares about his employees,” Lloyd Kuehn, CEO of GreenArrow said. “What he and his team have built at HBC is remarkable… Furthermore, the strategic fit is exceptionally strong. HBC’s New Jersey and southern New York footprint directly extends our existing operations in eastern Pennsylvania, deepening our presence across the Mid-Atlantic.”
Founded in 1992, HBC Company has built a reputation for excellence in the New Jersey infrastructure sector, performing key work for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.
“Joining GreenArrow marks an exciting new chapter for HBC,” Hoogendoorn said. “GreenArrow shares those same values and brings additional resources and opportunities that will benefit both our team and our customers.”
For GreenArrow, this transaction serves as an anchor for growth in a region with high infrastructure demand. By combining HBC’s regional expertise with GreenArrow’s central systems and national best practices, the company expects to enhance its ability to serve public roadways, airports, and industrial clients throughout the Northeast.
