Holy Name Medical Center has reached a historic milestone, earning formal recognition from the American Hospital Association (AHA) for a century of dedicated membership and leadership.
The centennial achievement was commemorated on May 26 when AHA Regional Executive Michael Draine presented the prestigious award to Holy Name’s administrative and clinical leadership teams. The recognition honors the Teaneck-based health system’s 100 years of active participation in the national organization, which serves as the primary advocate for hospitals and the communities they support.
“Our membership in the AHA has ensured that our perspectives and needs are heard and that our priorities are addressed through the organization’s advocacy efforts,” Mike Maron CEO Holy Name Medical Center said. “The many benefits we receive, from partner collaborations to health system reforms, directly impact how we operate and deliver care.”
As a pillar of the New Jersey and New York metropolitan health care landscape, Holy Name has spent the last century evolving from a local facility into a comprehensive, independent Catholic health system. Today, the system encompasses:
- A 361-bed acute care hospital.
- A renowned cancer center and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.
- A residential hospice and a prestigious nursing school.
- An extensive physician network and the Institute for Simulation Learning.
Beyond its physical infrastructure, the hospital is noted for its mission-driven approach to health care, which emphasizes treating the “body, mind, and soul.” This commitment to holistic care is reflected in its dedication to medical education, including its Pharmacy Residency Program and various graduate medical initiatives.
The AHA highlighted the significant role Holy Name plays in the health of the local population.
“The American Hospital Association is proud to recognize Holy Name Medical Center for 100 years of membership in the AHA and for their dedication to the New Jersey and New York metropolitan area,” Draine said during the presentation. “We thank their leaders, medical staff, caregivers, and other colleagues for providing a full range of medical care that is tailored to meet each patient’s needs.”
As Holy Name looks toward the future, the organization maintains its focus on medical innovation and compassionate service, ensuring that its century-long legacy of care continues to serve generations to come.
