The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce has announced the election of Eileen Mannion, vice president of Public Policy – State & Local Government Affairs at Verizon, to its Board of Directors.
Mannion joins the Chamber’s leadership team with over two decades of experience in government affairs at Verizon. Her career prior to the telecommunications sector includes significant roles in public service, having served as deputy counsel to the New Jersey Assembly and as an assistant counsel in the Governor’s Counsel’s Office. An alumna of Seton Hall University School of Law and Monmouth University, she is also active in the community as a volunteer with Unite for Her, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
“Eileen is an outstanding leader who will provide valuable counsel and expertise as we work together to ensure the state reaches its full economic potential,” Tom Bracken, president and CEO of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce said. “She will be joining a Board with an already impressive group of New Jersey business leaders who contribute to the Chamber’s mission of fostering a dynamic and thriving business environment in New Jersey.”
As a member of the Board of Directors, Mannion will help guide the Chamber’s policy initiatives and advocacy efforts. The Board provides strategic direction on issues critical to the state’s long-term economic prosperity, including:
- Economic Development
- Education & Workforce Development
- Environment and Energy policy
- Health Care reform
- State Budget and Fiscal issues
- Transportation infrastructure
