Exxon Mobil Corporation has announced that its long-planned move to redomicile from New Jersey to Texas will become officially effective on July 1.
As the company transitions its legal home, ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation will become the new publicly traded parent entity, succeeding the New Jersey-based Exxon Mobil Corporation.
For investors, the change is designed to be seamless:
- Ticker Symbol: Shares will continue to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “XOM.”
- Shareholder Action: Current shareholders are not required to take any action regarding this transition.
The move was previously authorized by shareholders during the company’s 2026 Annual Meeting. Following the completion of the transition on July 1, ExxonMobil expects to file a Form 8-K with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to finalize the record of the change.
