Colliers brokers $2M+ sale of historic Asbury Park office building to local nonprofit for new HQ

Colliers announced the successful $2,075,000 sale of 910 Fourth Avenue, a historic ±14,000-square-foot office and warehouse building in Asbury Park.

The three-story property was sold by 910 Fourth Avenue LLC—an entity affiliated with Thomas Georges and family—to the Community Affairs & Resource Center NJ (CARC NJ). The nonprofit organization will utilize the space as its new corporate headquarters to support its expanding community operations.

The building was formerly leased to the Asbury Park Board of Education, which vacated the premises about three years ago. After the ownership group marketed the asset for sale or lease as a single user building, it drew strong interest from CARC NJ.

The nonprofit is relocating from its longtime, smaller facility at 928 Sewell Avenue to accommodate its ongoing organizational growth.

“This building had a lot of interest given its size, location and history, but finding a buyer who could put it to long-term community use made this sale especially rewarding,” Doug Twyman, senior vice president at Colliers said. “CARC NJ’s growth into a larger headquarters speaks to both the strength of the organization and the continued appeal of Asbury Park as a place to invest and grow.”

Founded in 1980, CARC NJ delivers critical multilingual and multicultural social services to economically disadvantaged individuals and families throughout Monmouth County. The organization empowers communities through programs covering:

  • Comprehensive case management
  • Domestic violence and protective services
  • Public benefits assistance
  • Career and employment services
  • Community education workshops

In addition to its central Asbury Park operations, CARC NJ maintains satellite offices in Freehold, Lakewood and Keyport.

“My family has been proud to own this building for many years, and we always hoped its next chapter would benefit the community,” former owner Thomas Georges said. “Selling to CARC NJ feels like exactly the right fit — they’ll bring this building back to life in a way that serves the people of Asbury Park for years to come.”

The transaction was facilitated on the sell side by Senior Vice President Doug Twyman and Associate Chidi Egesionu of Colliers. Karen Smith of Keller Williams represented CARC NJ.

The property itself features a distinct mix of professional office space, creative studios, and a highly functional ground-level garage and warehouse area. A meticulous historic renovation previously preserved much of the property’s original architectural character.

Located on Fourth Avenue, the building sits just minutes from the iconic Asbury Park boardwalk and the city’s bustling downtown retail, restaurant, and nightlife corridors. The site offers seamless regional connectivity, positioned near NJ Transit’s Asbury Park Station and major commuter arteries, including Routes 71, 66, 33, 35, and 18.
