Gov. Mikie Sherrill will deliver the keynote address at the Statewide Hispanic Chamber
of Commerce of New Jersey’s 15th annual Feria de Negocios on July 30 at Pines
Manor in Edison.
Feria has grown into one of the state’s largest entrepreneurship gatherings, drawing
more than 1,400 attendees and 140 vendors last year across industries from tech and
finance to beauty and food. Register here
And despite its roots in Latino culture and business, nearly 45% of SHCCNJ’s
membership is non-Hispanic.
Luis De La Hoz, chairman of the SHCCNJ Board of Directors, said the governor’s
attendance is a statement.
“Gov. Sherrill’s return to Feria, now as governor, carries special significance for our
Chamber and the entrepreneurs we serve,” he said. “It affirms that Hispanic-owned and
other small businesses are essential to New Jersey’s economic future and must have a voice in the decisions that shape it.”
This year’s event, which begins at 2:30 p.m., will again feature the Mexican Pavilion,
spotlighting entrepreneurship, culture and cuisine from Puebla and other Mexican
regions after its debut in 2025.
SHCCNJ represents nearly 11,000 members and says it speaks for more than 180,000
Latino-owned businesses statewide, a community it credits with driving $127 billion of
New Jersey’s GDP.
John Lucas, who recently took over as CEO of the SHCCNJ, said he is eager to take in
the event.
“The energy is palpable,” he said. “It is at every table: entrepreneurs meeting
customers, corporations discovering suppliers and business leaders forging
partnerships across industries and cultures.”
