Scarinci Hollenbeck has added Paul Grossman and Jay McDaniel as partners in its Litigation Group, deepening the firm’s bench in commercial litigation, appellate advocacy, and partnership and shareholder disputes.
The firm also brought on Chris Seelinger as counsel and Oleksandr Kryvenko as senior associate as part of the same litigation expansion.
The additions come a month after the firm announced eight attorneys had joined overall, and together the four new hires expand the firm’s capacity across partnership and shareholder disputes, business valuation, real estate litigation and appellate advocacy, handling matters from pre-litigation strategy through trial and appeal in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts.
“As we continue to grow, we are making sure our litigation strength grows with us,” Managing Partner Donald Scarinci said. “Expanding the Litigation Group with attorneys of this caliber gives us more depth and more capacity to serve our clients, and it positions the firm for the next stage of our growth.”
Grossman represents corporate clients in complex commercial litigation and arbitration before American and international tribunals, with a focus on intellectual property, securities, antitrust, business torts, creditors’ rights, real estate and employment disputes.
He has argued before the U.S. Courts of Appeals, the New Jersey Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court, and has handled major matters for clients including a national stock exchange, an office furniture manufacturer and several regional banks.
McDaniel brings more than three decades of experience in partnership disputes and business valuation, representing majority and minority interests in shareholder and LLC member oppression, breach of fiduciary duty and forced buyout matters from the firm’s Little Falls and Red Bank offices. He is a certified valuation analyst and certified exit planning advisor, and edits the Business Divorce Law Report.
Seelinger, a Columbia Law School graduate, represents corporations and family businesses in commercial disputes involving business torts, corporate governance, contracts, fiduciary duties and restrictive covenants, and uses custom-built eDiscovery tools to manage large factual records.
Kryvenko joins the firm’s New York City office, where he will work with the litigation team led by Partner Ryan O. Miller that joined the firm last year. His practice covers arbitration, commercial and civil litigation, real estate disputes and appellate work. He serves on the board of directors of the New York County Lawyers’ Association and is founding chair of its Committee on Inclusion of International Lawyers in the U.S. Legal Profession. He is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.
