The culinary scene in Hudson County is expanding with a major new addition. The Taurasi Group announced that Orbital Kitchens has signed a lease to bring Alto, its multi-concept food hall brand, to Southend Lofts at 38 Jackson Street in Hoboken.
Set to open in early 2027, this 3,100-square-foot destination marks Alto’s official New Jersey debut, introducing a tech-forward dining experience to the city’s historic west side.
A global menu under one roof
Designed by EL Design Corp., Alto will feature approximately 15 proprietary restaurant concepts alongside a neighborhood smoothie café and flexible indoor seating. The diverse culinary lineup spans multiple international flavor profiles, featuring:
- Little Mint (Thai cuisine)
- Lucky Mao (Modern Chinese takeout)
- Braddah’s Hawaiian BBQ
- Glazed Hen (Korean fried chicken)
- La Birria de Res (Birria tacos)
- Naka Sushi
- Starter’s Pizza (Individual-sized sourdough pizzas)
Technology-driven convenience meets historic architecture
Operating with a streamlined hybrid model, customers can place orders via self-service kiosks, the Alto mobile app, or third-party delivery services, with options to dine in, grab food to-go, or enjoy home delivery.
Alto will open directly into Southend Lofts’ dramatic signature public atrium—a weather-protected, light-filled gathering space modeled after Milan’s historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Growing retail and residential hub in Hoboken
Southend Lofts—a meticulous adaptive reuse of a former industrial property once home to the Davis Baking Powder and My-T-Fine Pudding factory—continues to curate a robust mix of commercial and community tenants. Alto joins an expanding lineup that includes:
- Southend Market (Supermarket)
- Nana’s Dim Sum + Dumplings
- Under Pressure Espresso Bar
- City Fitness (Active lifestyle club)
- A dedicated Pre-K and Early Childhood Education Center for the Hoboken Public School District.

With sales surpassing the 50% milestone and residents already moved into the luxury building’s one- to five-bedroom homes, Southend Lofts sits directly opposite the newly completed Southwest Resiliency Park, anchoring a rapidly revitalized corridor of Hoboken.
