Clyde Paul Agency employees support organ and tissue donor families through NJ Sharing Network volunteer initiative

Employees of the Clyde Paul Agency, Inc., an independent insurance brokerage headquartered in Summit, recently volunteered at the NJ Sharing Network headquarters in New Providence to support the organization’s “Wrapped in Love” program.

The agency team packaged handmade shawls and lap blankets paired with personalized messages of support, which will be distributed to the families of deceased organ and tissue donors across New Jersey.

The volunteer initiative carried personal significance for Clyde Paul Agency owner and President Lisa Harrington Hamm, whose father was an organ donor. His legacy inspired Harrington Hamm to connect her team directly with the non-profit organization’s family-support operations.

“Having experienced organ and tissue donation through my own family, I understand how deeply it can affect those left behind,” Harrington Hamm said. “I wanted our team to take part in something that reflects the generosity of donors and gives us a chance to make a meaningful contribution to our community.”

NJ Sharing Network leadership emphasized the impact of local business participation in furthering their family support services.

“When businesses encourage their employees to get involved, they help bring our mission to life in meaningful ways,” Ametra Burton, manager of strategic partnerships at NJ Sharing Network, said. “We are grateful to the Clyde Paul Agency, Inc. team for sharing their time and helping us extend a message of compassion to families who have experienced loss.”

Founded in 1962 by Clyde Paul, the independent agency offers personal and commercial insurance products to individuals, families, and commercial enterprises statewide.

According to data from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), more than 100,000 Americans—including over 3,000 New Jersey residents—are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. Medical statistics show a single organ donor can save up to eight lives, while a single tissue donor can enhance the lives of more than 75 people.

The “Wrapped in Love” initiative welcomes community volunteers to knit or crochet blankets or assist with packaging, personalization, and delivery logistics.
