ELEC825’s Our Infrastructure Matters, a television and digital program dedicated to showcasing the critical infrastructure projects and skilled union workforce driving the region, has achieved a major milestone with its first-ever New York Emmy Award nomination.
The recognized segment, titled “Method to the Madness: NJ Roads Are Not Boring,” earned a nomination in the Public Affairs – Single Program category. The honor was celebrated at the New York Emmy Awards ceremony on Oct. 10, 2026, by the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), which recognizes excellence in television and digital media production throughout the region.
Produced out of Springfield, Our Infrastructure Matters focuses on peeling back the layers of everyday infrastructure that many commuters take for granted. The Emmy-nominated segment takes viewers deep behind the scenes of New Jersey’s transportation network, highlighting the advanced engineering, innovation, and precision craftsmanship required to maintain and modernize the state’s complex roadways.
“Receiving our first New York Emmy nomination is an incredible honor and a testament to the hard work and creativity of everyone involved in producing Our Infrastructure Matters,” Executive Producer Michael Makarski said. “Our mission has always been to shine a spotlight on the skilled men and women who build, maintain and modernize the infrastructure we depend on every day.”
ELEC825 Director Mark Longo emphasized the broader impact of the recognition for the local union workforce.
“This nomination is particularly meaningful because infrastructure is something most people take for granted,” Longo said. “The goal of the program is to bring these projects to life, showcase the extraordinary work happening across New Jersey and give viewers a greater appreciation for the union workforce that quietly makes it all possible.”
