Managing homework, sports schedules, club meetings, and a social life has always been a juggling act for students. Now, a trio of New Jersey high school students has created a high-tech solution to simplify the chaos.
Student entrepreneurs Avi Rao, Hansen Wilson, and Holt Wilson have officially announced the launch of MyDaye AI™, a free conversational artificial intelligence companion designed to bring every aspect of a student’s day into a single, cohesive platform. Built out of Tinton Falls, the app aggregates school calendars, learning management systems, athletic practices, extracurricular activities, family commitments, and personal interests into a single source of truth.
The inspiration for MyDaye AI came directly from the founders’ own daily frustrations trying to manage heavy academic and athletic workloads. They noticed that traditional productivity tools treated exams, sports games, and club rehearsals as entirely isolated events, leaving students to piece together their schedules across a dozen different apps.
“We didn’t set out to build another education app. We built an AI companion that understands students because students have information everywhere but no single place that understands how all those things fit together,” said co-founder Avi Rao. “We built the tool we wished we had every day in school.”
Co-founder Holt Wilson added, “I didn’t need another app telling me what was due. I needed an AI buddy that understood everything happening in my life and could help me decide what to do next.”
MyDaye AI adapts dynamically depending on the user’s academic stage:
- Middle School: Offers simple daily views, gentle reminders, and check-ins, complete with an optional parent view.
- High School: Integrates sports schedules, rehearsals, college visits, and part-time jobs alongside classes, featuring a dedicated “Focus Mode” for study sessions.
- College: Allows students to scan course syllabi in seconds, connect LMS feeds (such as Canvas, Blackboard, Schoology, and Moodle), track university teams, and coordinate roommate or group project schedules.
Beyond standard calendar management, the AI assistant actively helps students break down complex, multi-step projects into manageable daily steps, prioritize deadlines, and determine optimal times to start studying around existing athletic or personal commitments. It also integrates seamlessly with external platforms like Google Calendar, Outlook, TeamSnap, GameChanger, and SportsEngine.
A standout feature of MyDaye AI is its social scheduling capability, designed to solve a problem that traditional calendars miss: coordinating downtime with peers.
Students can add friends and build groups—such as study circles, sports teams, or roommates. By utilizing privacy-first availability sharing (where friends only see open slots rather than private calendar details), users can prompt the app: “When are we all free tonight?” or “Find us 90 minutes before Friday to finish our group project.”
The AI agent cross-references everyone’s schedules, suggests optimal meeting times, and automatically populates the event on every participant’s calendar once accepted—eliminating the need for back-and-forth group chats.
Reflecting on the often-prohibitive costs of advanced software and AI tools, the founders made the deliberate choice to offer MyDaye AI entirely free for students, with no subscription fees, trial limits, or paywalled features.
“Who better to reinvent student life than the students living it? Every feature in MyDaye AI started with a real problem one of us experienced as a student,” said co-founder Hansen Wilson.
MyDaye AI is available now on the Apple App Store, with a Google Play release coming soon. Students, parents, and educators can explore the platform and sign up directly at mydaye.ai.
