Walters hosts ‘Senior Prom’ for residents of income-restricted communities

It was a special evening for senior residents, ages 55+, living exclusively at Walters’ income-restricted properties in Ocean and Burlington Counties. Nearly 50 older adults attended the second annual Senior Prom.

The festive evening was filled with music, dancing, and food. The Waterfront restaurant in Forked River catered a buffet-style dinner as well as delicious desserts. Attendees enjoyed an extra layer of fun with a DJ playing music from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for our residents to come together and enjoy one another’s company,” Jennifer Pampalone, social services coordinator for Walters said. “Events like this foster genuine social connections and help build a stronger, more vibrant community.”

Throughout the year, Pampalone collaborates with Walters’ property managers to deliver tailored programming for residents of income-restricted family and senior (55+) communities. Planned activities range from summer barbecues to holiday celebrations. Together, the teams also give back to their local neighborhoods by organizing food and toy drives.
