Saint Peter’s Healthcare System has on Wednesday announced the new leadership for its Medical Executive Committee for the 2025-2027 term. Dr. Naveen Mehrotra, a board-certified pediatrician, will serve as president. Joining him are Dr. James E. Gervasoni Jr. as vice president and Dr. William J. Lowe III as treasurer. This committee plays a key role in shaping clinical policies and guiding the medical staff’s operations.
According to Leslie Hirsch, president and CEO of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, the new leaders “reflect a stellar combination of clinical expertise, strong leadership, and keen business acumen” that will help reinforce the hospital’s legacy of quality care.
Meet the new leaders
Mehrotra brings over 25 years of experience to his new role. He is the founder of My Whole Child Pediatrics, a practice with 20 providers across 20 locations. Mehrotra is also an advocate for private practitioners and works to address health care disparities within the South Asian community. He founded the Shri Krishna Nidhi (SKN) Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting total wellness through education. As a key partner in establishing the SKN South Asian Diabetes Center at Saint Peter’s, he is committed to improving health outcomes through community education and lifestyle modifications.
Gervasoni Jr., a skilled surgeon, has a history of innovation at Saint Peter’s. He was instrumental in launching the hospital’s robotic surgery program and performed its first general surgery robotics case in 2011. In addition to his new role, he serves as the Surgical Residency Site director through Saint Peter’s affiliation with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Lowe III is the vice chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Peter’s. He also serves as the medical director of both the Mary V. O’Shea Birth Center and Outpatient Quality and Informatics. Lowe, who began his career at Saint Peter’s as a resident, is highly regarded for his commitment to mentoring healthcare professionals and his collaborative approach to patient care.
