Bergen New Bridge Medical Center on Tuesday announced it will implement Epic, a top-ranked electronic health record (EHR) platform. This strategic move is a key part of the medical center’s long-term plan to provide equitable, connected, and patient-centered care.
The adoption of Epic represents a major technological investment aimed at enhancing the patient experience across various services, including acute care, behavioral health, long-term care, and ambulatory settings. The new system will help streamline operations and support clinical decision-making.
Deborah Visconi, president and CEO of Bergen New Bridge, called the implementation a “fundamental transformation in how we deliver care.” She emphasized that Epic will strengthen care continuity, promote health equity, and empower both patients and clinicians with tools that make healthcare more “human, personalized, and accessible.”
By aligning with top health systems nationwide that also use Epic, Bergen New Bridge will facilitate more seamless information-sharing for patients who receive care across multiple health care providers.
The implementation is expected to take 18 months, with a scheduled “go-live” date in early 2027. More details about the project timeline will be released as the process moves forward.
