Famed Far Hills steeplechase event offering more all-inclusive options

The Hunt Club and Chairman’s Tent aim to elevate experience at charity event

The annual Far Hills Race Meeting, home of the country’s most prestigious steeplechase horse racing, will award more than $750,000 in purse money — the largest on the steeplechase circuit in 2025 — when it’s held Oct. 18 in Far Hills. The event, sponsored by Open Road Auto Group, also will raise money for five local health care organizations: RWJUH Somerset, Crossroads4Hope, Community in Crisis, LifeCamp and Bonnie Brae.

Organizers, however, are just as concerned with what’s in it for the spectators.

Tickets for the 104th version of the event, held at Moorland Farm, begin at $110 for general admission. But there also are options for more “all-inclusive” opportunities, including the Hunt Club and the Chairman’s Tent, organizers said.

Located on the backstretch of the infield, The Hunt Club offers guests 21 and over an unobstructed, front-row view of the race. Entertainment will be in full swing with music from Jay Bonax and Holly T, lawn games, as well as a mechanical bull if guests are daring enough to go for a ride. The Hunt Club will feature tailgate style food served by Frungillo Caterers and an open bar featuring wine, beer, seltzers and more. Guests also will have access to premium cigars provided by Mobile Cigar Lounge and expert betting guidance from America’s Best Racing.

For a more upscale, all-inclusive experience on race day, guests can choose The Chairman’s Tent, presented by Brown Advisory. Providing exclusive seating next to the iconic Race Tower at the finish line where trophy presentations take place, The Chairman’s Tent offers ticket holders a light breakfast, a premium upscale lunch, endless beer, wine and champagne.

Ron Kennedy, chairman of the Far Hills Race Meeting, said meeting the needs of the spectators is a top priority.

“Every year, at the conclusion of the races here at Moorland Farm, our team comes together to answer one question – what can we do better?” he said. “We only get one shot at this event, every 365 days, so it’s critical that we reflect on the experiences we provide guests that come to not just take in the thrill of race day, but to also to spend time creating memories with family, friends, and colleagues.

“From elevating the all-inclusive options on property, to the range of food and shopping they can indulge in, to continuing our partnership with FOX Sports to ensure fans can take in the action no matter where they may be, we’re confident the 104th running will be the best yet.” No matter how you enter, you can participate in Vendor Village, which will include more than 20 vendors, such as Faherty, Hans Clothier and k + co LIVING, offering a selection of merchandise, from jewelry to luxury outerwear, home goods and more. Then, for a quick bite, racegoers can head to the infield at Moorland Farm where a range of food trucks will be onsite.

Food trucks featured this year include: Avellino’s Wood Fired Brick Oven Pizza Blossom Co Chick Wings and Things Cousins Maine Lobster Empanada Guy Grain & Cane Playa Bowls Shake Shack Food Truck

Guy Torsilieri, Chairman of the Far Hills Race Meeting, said meeting the needs of guests is part of the experience of the day.

“Every ticket holder plays such an important role in helping us achieve our mission, which is to give back and support health care in the region,” he said. “We’re particularly proud of the longstanding, 75-year partnership we’ve forged with RWJUH Somerset. From supporting the services they provide to patients and families in the region, to funding the construction of the Steeplechase Cancer Center and contributing to its Far Hills Race Meeting Oncology Patient Assistance Fund, we’re making a difference, and that is the true legacy of the Far Hills Race Meeting.”
