Franklin Lakes-based BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), on Tuesday announced the appointment of Robert “Robbie” Huffines and Jacqueline “Jacky” Wright to its board of directors, effective Dec. 1.
The appointments are aimed at strengthening the board’s expertise in key strategic areas—particularly digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), finance, and health care.
Tom Polen, chairman, CEO, and president of BD, emphasized that the new directors will be instrumental as the company executes its strategy to evolve into a “scaled pure-play innovative medical technology company.”
“Robbie and Jacky will further strengthen the BD board with deep expertise in health care, technology, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as finance and capital markets, all of which are core to the continued advancement of our strategy,” Polen said.
The addition of Huffines and Wright marks the appointment of three new independent directors in 2025, demonstrating BD’s ongoing commitment to strong corporate governance and regular board refreshment.
Huffines brings more than three decades of experience advising health care companies on financing, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Huffines is a former global chairman of investment banking at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., where he also co-led the global health care investment banking group. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Insulet Corporation and is involved in nonprofit work focused on children’s mental health.
Meanwhile, Wright brings over 30 years of experience in technology and large-scale digital transformation. She most recently served as the first chief technology and platform officer at McKinsey & Company. Prior to McKinsey, she spent over a decade at Microsoft Corporation, including a role as chief digital officer, U.S. Business. Notably, from 2017 to 2019, she served as chief information & digital officer for HM Revenue and Customs in the United Kingdom, leading digital transformation for Brexit preparation.
