Caregility unveils AI-powered ‘unlimited monitoring’ for iCare Coordinator to combat staffing shortages

Caregility, a Wall-based virtual care leader, on Thursday announced a major enhancement to its iCare Coordinator© (iCC) application: the introduction of unlimited continuous patient monitoring.

The new “Monitor” feature allows charge nurses and clinical managers to oversee any number of patient rooms—occupied or vacant—from a single, unified dashboard. By removing the technical caps on monitoring scale, Caregility said it aims to help health systems address the dual pressures of severe nursing shortages and rising patient safety concerns.

The iCC Monitor dashboard provides nurse managers with instant, real-time situational awareness. By consolidating room status, patient activity and AI-driven alerts into one interface, it transforms passive observation into proactive coordination.

“With iCare Coordinator, we’re giving Nurse Managers the ability to make sure every patient room is monitored so they can focus care when and where it’s needed across the enterprise,” Kedar Ganta, chief product and engineering officer at Caregility said.

The addition of unlimited monitoring creates a “centralized command hub” that supports different roles within the hospital unit:

  • Charge Nurses: Gain a consolidated view of all rooms to rapidly identify priorities and direct staff.

  • Virtual Nurses: Manage task assignments and bedside alerts from a central location, improving remote-to-bedside collaboration.

  • Bedside Nurses: Benefit from reduced interruptions as virtual teams handle administrative and observational tasks.

  • Nursing Leadership: Access actionable analytics to quantify time and cost savings, supporting ROI for virtual care investments.

Unlike traditional cloud-based systems that can be limited by bandwidth and latency, Caregility’s Computer Vision AI runs locally on “edge” devices within the patient room.
