Affinity Federal Credit Union recently hosted its annual President’s Invitational Golf Outing, raising a record-breaking $254,000 for the Affinity Foundation. Held on June 8, the event drew more than 160 golfers, guests, and volunteers, exceeding last year’s fundraising total by more than $40,000.
The proceeds will directly support the Foundation’s core mission of combating poverty, promoting education, and boosting the overall wellbeing of Affinity members and local communities across New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.
The annual tournament funds vital community outreach initiatives, including direct financial relief for credit union members facing hardships, scholarships for local students pursuing higher education, and grants for community-driven nonprofits.
“We thank everyone who showed up to support The Foundation’s mission,” Kelly Watts, executive director of the Affinity Foundation said. “This year, the support we provide is more important than ever. Your engagement translates into real impact for our members facing struggles and their communities.”
The day-long event featured a cocktail reception, dinner, and a raffle with over 40 baskets donated by local businesses, employees, and members. At the tournament’s kickoff, Kevin Brauer, CEO and President of Affinity, reflected on the credit union’s foundational ethos of “people helping people,” while also honoring the legacy and friendship of John Fenton, who led Affinity as CEO for more than three decades.
“The Foundation allows us to provide direct support to those who need it most, transforming our communities and promoting wellbeing for all,” Brauer stated.
The Foundation extended special recognition to its top corporate sponsors, including Allied Solutions, Fiserv, Vericast, VISA, Inc., Clear Wave Wealth Management, Alloy, Candescent, Ferreira Group, Kasasa, Lockton Companies, Saldutti Law Group, and TruStage.
The competitive side of the outing saw high-spirited play, with tournament prizes awarded to the following field leaders:
- First Place: Fiserv
- Second Place: Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP
- Third Place: VISA, Inc.
