The Caesars Foundation announced Wednesday that it has awarded $150,000 in grants to six nonprofit organizations across Atlantic and Cape May Counties. The funding is part of a strategic effort to address critical regional needs, including food security, workforce development, housing stability, public safety, and human trafficking prevention.
Supporting local impact
The latest round of grants underscores the foundation’s commitment to creating lasting community change through sustained partnerships. The selected organizations serve a variety of demographics, from at-risk youth to families facing hardship:
- Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City ($35,000): Focused on workforce development, this funding will help youth earn industry-recognized certifications in areas like Microsoft Office, lifeguarding, and food safety (ServSafe).
- Community FoodBank of New Jersey ($30,000): Supports expanded access to nutritious food through mobile pantries, meal distribution, and family support programs.
- Avanzar (Atlantic County Women’s Center) ($30,000): Dedicated to the “Dream Free” program, which provides essential education and advocacy to combat human trafficking among vulnerable populations.
- Atlantic City Rescue Mission ($25,000): Provides emergency shelter, meals, and ongoing supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness and financial hardship.
- 200 Club of Atlantic & Cape May Counties ($20,000): Funds scholarships for the children of fallen police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel.
- John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers ($10,000): Supports the expansion of impaired driving prevention education, including the use of interactive driving simulators.
A culture of engagement
Barron Fuller, regional president of Caesars Entertainment, noted that the company’s support extends well beyond financial contributions. “These organizations play an essential role in supporting our neighbors,” Fuller said. “Through the Caesars Foundation, we are proud to support programs that provide critical resources, expand opportunities, and strengthen the communities we serve.”
In addition to these grants, Caesars Entertainment team members actively volunteer their time with these partners, assisting with tasks ranging from food sorting at the Community FoodBank to mentorship and STEM support at the Boys & Girls Club. Guests of the Atlantic City resorts also contribute to these efforts through the “Change for Change” program, which allows them to donate spare change during their visits to further amplify the impact of the foundation’s investments.
