A new mini-soccer pitch is open in Trenton — and the timing is no accident.
The field was unveiled Saturday at Cadwalader Park as part of a free community celebration tied to the World Cup. Built through a partnership between the FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey Host Committee, Bristol Myers Squibb and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the pitch gives Trenton families a permanent place to play, gather and stay active.
The event drew residents to a full day of programming that included a community health fair and free groceries alongside the soccer festivities. For many, the highlight was stepping onto the new pitch for the first time.
For Princeton-based Bristol Myers Squibb, an official supporter of the NY/NJ Host Committee, the investment reflects the company’s broader commitment to strengthening communities across New Jersey — bringing resources and opportunity closer to home.
The opening was made possible through the collaboration of Bristol Myers Squibb, the FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey Host Committee, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the City of Trenton and the Trenton Parks & Recreation Department. Mayor Reed Gusciora participated in the event.
