Rowan University is ushering in a new era for its campus commerce, announcing that it has tapped Rally House and eCampus.com to overhaul its retail and textbook operations starting this July.
The move marks a departure from the traditional bookstore model. Rally House, a rapidly expanding national sports and apparel retailer, will take over the prominent two-story storefront on Rowan Boulevard currently operated by Barnes & Noble Collegiate. Simultaneously, eCampus.com will launch a sophisticated digital-first platform to handle the university’s course materials.
Rally House’s arrival is expected to bring a “pro-shop” energy to the heart of Glassboro. While the store will serve as the primary hub for Rowan-branded apparel and spirit merchandise, it will also cater to the region’s deep-rooted professional sports fandom.
“Rowan is an important part of the region with a growing alumni and fanbase,” said Aaron Liebert, CEO of Rally House. “In addition to Rowan University merchandise, Rally House will also cater to local sports fans with Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers gear.”
The partnership is part of a strategic campus expansion for Rally House, which recently added Drexel, William & Mary, and George Mason University to its collegiate portfolio.
While Rally House handles the “spirit,” eCampus.com is tasked with the “success.” By moving textbook operations to a specialized digital platform, Rowan aims to directly combat the rising costs of higher education.
The new eCampus system will offer:
- Personalized Storefronts: An online experience that automatically populates a student’s required materials based on their specific course schedule.
- Maximum Flexibility: A wide array of formats, including digital, used, and rental textbooks.
- Deep Discounts: Access to a proprietary marketplace where third-party sellers offer materials at significantly reduced prices.
“eCampus.com will provide our students with faster, more affordable access to the course materials they need to succeed,” Rowan University President Ali Houshmand said. “Together, these partnerships reflect our dedication to innovation, service, and school spirit.”
The transition to the new operators will begin in July 2026. Students and alumni can expect a refreshed retail environment on Rowan Boulevard designed to reflect the university’s explosive growth over the last decade.
“We look forward to improving student success through convenient access to the materials they need at an affordable price,” added Matt Montgomery, president and CEO of eCampus.com.
