Lakewood-based Preferred Behavioral Health Group on Wednesday said that Dr. Adam Sagot has been named as its new chief medical officer.
Sagot brings a strong track record of clinical leadership and innovation in mental health and substance use treatment. His record of excellent clinical leadership will help expand access to high-quality, trauma-informed behavioral health care.
Sagot will lead the organization’s medical strategy, oversee clinical quality and safety, and guide the integration of evidence-based practices across all service lines.

Sagot joins Preferred Behavioral Health Group from Summit Oaks Hospital where he also served as chief medical officer. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University, in which he is a vocal advocate for transforming mental health systems to better serve individuals and families.

Sagot holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine where he also completed his residency. He completed fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University College of Medicine, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Sagot is board-certified in Forensic Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
