Rowan University partners with eCampus.com to modernize bookstore experience

Rowan University recently announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with eCampus.com to launch a new, streamlined online bookstore experience beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.

The initiative aims to provide nearly 24,500 students with a more affordable, intuitive, and tech-driven way to secure required course materials. By transitioning to eCampus.com’s digital platform, the nationally recognized research institution is looking to eliminate traditional friction points in the textbook procurement process.

The new platform will integrate directly with Rowan’s existing systems via Single Sign-On (SSO) technology. This integration allows students to log in and immediately view a personalized list of required materials tailored to their specific course schedule.

Key benefits for students include:

  • Flexible Access: Access to a variety of formats, including digital eBooks and cost-effective rental options.
  • The eCampus.com Marketplace: A platform connecting students with competitive pricing from trusted third-party sellers.
  • Convenient Delivery: Flexible shipping options, allowing materials to be delivered directly to the campus or to students’ homes before the start of the term.

The partnership also introduces the FAST system (Faculty Adoption, Submission, and Tracking), which simplifies the administrative workload for instructors. The portal provides faculty with real-time visibility into material pricing and availability, ensuring they can select and submit course materials more efficiently.

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving affordability, accessibility, and the overall student experience,” Matt Montgomery, president and CEO of eCampus.com said.

Rowan University President Ali Houshmand echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the university’s focus on cost-conscious innovation. “This partnership will give our students greater choice and value while providing faculty with a streamlined, more efficient adoption process that supports teaching and learning across the university,” he added.

The move comes as Rowan continues to cement its status as one of the fastest-growing public research institutions in the Northeast. With a strong emphasis on practical research in health care, engineering, and science, the university remains committed to balancing high-quality education with the public-private partnerships necessary to keep costs manageable for a diverse student body.
