Former TD Bank Regional President Robert Curley to lead Mid Penn Bank’s Eastern Division from Mt. Laurel

Mid Penn Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc., has named long-time New Jersey financial executive Robert Curley as Senior Executive Vice President and President of its Eastern Division.

In his new role, Curley will lead bank operations across a strategic territory that spans all of New Jersey as well as the greater Philadelphia metro area, including Bucks, Chester, Montgomery, and Delaware counties. Curley will be based out of Mid Penn Bank’s regional offices in Mt. Laurel, reporting directly to Bank President and CEO Rory Ritrievi.

Deep South Jersey and statewide banking expertise

Robert Curley

Curley brings more than 37 years of commercial banking and executive leadership experience to Mid Penn Bank. He spent his entire career at TD Bank and its predecessor, Commerce Bank N.A., playing an instrumental role in the growth of its regional franchise.

Most recently, Curley served as Executive Vice President and Regional President of the Mid-Atlantic Metro Area for TD Bank, overseeing consumer, commercial, small business, and specialty banking operations across a network of more than 280 branches and 2,500 employees spanning New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Prior to that statewide leadership role, Curley served as Senior Vice President and Market President of South Jersey and Coastal New Jersey. In that position, he co-led a 100-location retail branch network while directly guiding commercial and small business lending operations across Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, Cumberland, Cape May, and Salem counties.

“To be able to attract a bank executive with Rob’s long history of success throughout the greater Philadelphia metro area is truly meaningful,” Rory Ritrievi, President and CEO of Mid Penn Bank, said. “Rob is a proven leader and has deep market equity in a market we have committed resources to over the last eight years. The board and senior management team are both thrilled with this news.”

Curley’s appointment signals a major push by the Pennsylvania-headquartered institution to expand its commercial lending, retail presence, and wealth management footprint across New Jersey’s commercial corridors.

“I am excited to join Mid Penn Bank where I have an opportunity to take on a broader leadership role and help guide a growing, community-focused institution into its next chapter,” Curley said. “I look forward to working with the team to build on the Bank’s strong foundation, deliver value for customers and shareholders, and support continued growth across the franchise.”

Curley holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a concentration in finance and statistics from Penn State University and completed executive business education at the Wharton School Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the University of Pennsylvania.

Curley is a prominent civic advocate and corporate leader within New Jersey and the Philadelphia region. Named to the NJBIZ Power List for Finance in 2026, he maintains an active governance role across several high-profile regional organizations.

His current board appointments include:

  • New Jersey Chamber of Commerce (Board of Directors)
  • Boys & Girls Club of Camden County (Board of Trustees)
  • Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (Board of Directors)
  • Ensemble Arts/Kimmel Center (Board of Directors)
  • The Patriot Fund (Board of Directors)
  • Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Corporate Council (Member)

He was also recognized as Corporate Partner of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence in 2025.
