In an effort to support Granite State and Garden State shoppers adjusting to new dietary habits, Keasbey-based Wakefern Food Corp. announced that ShopRite stores across New Jersey and the region are rolling out an updated version of its Wellness Your Way Starter Kit.
The free, limited-time resource is designed specifically for pharmacy customers filling their first prescription for GLP-1 weight-management medications.
Building on the initial release of the wellness program earlier this year, the updated kit features an expanded, dietitian-guided nutrition handbook. The guide takes shoppers aisle by aisle through the grocery store, offering practical advice on incorporating protein, fiber, hydration, and nutrient-dense foods into everyday meals.
“As customers adjust their eating habits while beginning a GLP-1 medication, we want to make navigating the supermarket feel more manageable,” Aaron Sapp, vice president of Pharmacy and Wellness for Wakefern Food Corp., said. “Our goal is to provide practical resources and support that help customers build new routines and make informed choices that work for their individual needs.”
Along with step-by-step shopping guidance, the starter kits include product samples and coupons from participating brand partners. Brands featured in the new iteration include:
- Nutritional & Protein Support: Pure Protein, Ensure, Bowl & Basket, and Thomas’
- Wellness & Digestion: TUMS, OLLY, and MiraLAX
- Snacks & Everyday Staples: G Hughes Zero Sugar, GoGo squeeZ, Mentos Gum, Kraft, and Eat Pecans (from the American Pecan Promotion Board)
By bridging the gap between pharmacy care and food choices, New Jersey’s largest supermarket cooperative is positioning its locations to better serve patients on weight-loss therapies.
The Wellness Your Way Starter Kits are available at all ShopRite Pharmacy locations for a limited time while supplies last. New Jersey residents and shoppers can also view the digital nutrition guide and explore additional weight management tools online at shoprite.com/wellness-your-way
