A former Federal Reserve economist and Columbia Business School professor emeritus, Mayer has leveraged his extensive academic and public policy background to steer Paramus-based Longbridge Financial into a leading national mortgage lender and servicer. Over the past year, Mayer’s strategic direction has driven key product developments at Longbridge, including the introduction of the HELOC For Seniors®—a specialized home equity line of credit designed for homeowners aged 62 and older—alongside the continued expansion of the company’s proprietary Platinum reverse mortgage suite.
Beyond his corporate role, Mayer remains deeply influential across the broader housing sector. In 2026, he assumed the inaugural co-chair position for the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Senior Mortgage Solutions Network, and he actively serves on the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee, championing industry advocacy, consumer transparency, and high professional standards.
