Woodcliff Lake-based accounting, tax, and advisory practice PKF O’Connor Davies has announced the appointment of Denisse Moderski, as a partner in its State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. Based primarily out of the firm’s New York City office, Moderski brings nearly 15 years of specialized tax experience to the role.
Moderski specializes in state and local income and franchise tax matters, guiding private equity firms, investment funds, closely held businesses, and corporate taxpayers through complex multistate tax issues. Her core areas of focus include multistate tax planning, nexus, apportionment and sourcing, restructuring, pass-through entity tax (PTET) planning, and state tax controversy.
Additionally, she routinely advises clients on the state tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions, delivering strategic oversight in transaction structuring, due diligence, and post-transaction optimization.

A recognized voice on emerging state tax trends, Moderski frequently authors publications and speaks on shifting tax landscapes—particularly regarding the rapid evolution of PTET strategies.
Moderski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the Rutgers University Business School and maintains active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenses in both New Jersey and New York. Furthermore, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA), and the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA).
