Accounting and advisory firm Withum is expanding its financial advisory muscle. The firm announced on Tuesday that seasoned investment banking executive Robin Kim has joined Withum Capital as managing director of Investment Banking.
In his new role, Kim will lead the growth and strategic direction of Withum Capital’s investment banking practice, helping privately held, founder-led, and middle-market companies navigate the growing complexities of M&A, succession planning, capital formation, and ownership transitions.
Kim brings over two decades of transaction and corporate finance experience to Withum, having advised on corporate transactions representing more than $30 billion in aggregate value throughout his career. His deep expertise spans sell-side and buy-side M&A, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, restructurings, and comprehensive debt and equity financings.
Prior to joining Withum, Kim held senior investment banking and principal investing roles at prominent global financial services firms, specializing in guiding family-owned and privately held enterprises through critical liquidity events and strategic growth phases. Based out of Orange County, California, Kim will collaborate closely with Withum’s national network of advisory professionals.
“Withum provides a unique combination of a leading national advisory platform with an entrepreneurial mindset,” Kim said. “Business owners today need more than transaction execution—they need a trusted advisor who understands their long-term goals. I’m excited to help clients unlock value and achieve successful outcomes at every stage of growth.”
The appointment arrives as middle-market business owners face mounting intricacies around ownership transitions and long-term value creation. By pairing Withum’s established, top-25 national accounting and advisory platform with high-level investment banking talent, the firm aims to deliver a fully integrated suite of services.
“As owners face increasingly important decisions around the future of their companies and long-term value creation, the need for integrated advisory services has never been greater,” Jim Bourke, managing director of advisory services at Withum said. “Kim brings strategic insight and transaction expertise that align with Withum’s vision of helping clients navigate every stage of their business lifecycle.”
Established in 1974 and headquartered in Princeton, Withum continues to expand its footprint as a premier local-to-global advisory powerhouse.
